Thoughts On A Monday...

*Holidays are exhausting.

*Holidays are exhausting for adults.

*Fireworks are awesome. When standing on a rooftop deck, in the city of Baltimore, and seeing 4 displays happen at once on NYE...that's just amazing.

*Going back to work sucks.

*Speaking of work, do you work with people that you just DO NOT want to talk to? I'm not saying all of them, but are there  some people in the workplace that you try to avoid at all costs? It's not that they're bad people, it's just that they have horrible conversation skills. I dread walking into the break room and being alone with them. Sure, you could just turn right back around, but the worst is when you're texting and you look up and there you are...just the two of you. She's dying to talk to someone about something she saw on the internet. She's old enough to be your mom, but speaking to her is 10x MORE awkward than speaking to your mother.

She says something like, "Are you a big College football fan?"

I reply, "Not really."

"Well have you heard about that stuff happening at Penn State?"

You don't have to give one shit about College football to have heard about what happened at Penn State. Old woman are talking about Penn State while getting their helmet hair re-stiffened. EVERYONE knows about Penn State. A man was raping children, that tends to make headlines.

*I also hate small talk. This one happened as I was walking into the building and a co-worker was walking out.

"Where'd this weather come from?" she asked

"The Northwest!" is what I'd like to reply.

Instead I say, "I know. Crazy, right?!" in a tone of voice I NEVER talk in. It's like a bad David Spade impression.

She then makes a very Kristen Wiig-esque "Ahhhhh!" sound and we part ways.

So awkward, it's gross.

*I love checking the Doppler Radar on stormy days. It makes me feel official. It's a powerful tool, USE IT!!!

*Also, SAVE COMMUNITY
