Cannibals and Zombies: A Refresher

There has been a buzz about the interwebs and news outlets regarding a few stories involving face eating, intestine tossing, and good ol' brain/heart ingesting. In a matter of days there was rumblings of an oncoming Zombie Apocalypse. I, myself upon reading the accounts of a man eating the face of a homeless individual (and after being shot 12 times continued to nom away), was guilty of it. As the other stories surfaced, so did the zombie chatter. With the exception of the first story, I thought that there needed to be a bit of a refresher on cannibals and zombies.

The short of  it: Zombies are the flesh-craving reanimated corpses of the living. Cannibals are living humans who feed on the flesh of other humans.

Take it away Merriem-Webster:

zom·bie noun \ˈzäm-bē\

Definition of ZOMBIE

1usually zombi

2a : a person held to resemble the so-called walking dead; especially : automaton

3: a mixed drink made of several kinds of rum, liqueur, and fruit juice

can·ni·bal noun \ˈka-nə-bəl\

Definition of CANNIBAL

: one that eats the flesh of its own kind
